A microscopic picture of the Brachina meteorite served as the inspiration for this print. This particular meteorite was discovered in 1974 close to the Brachina Gorge in South Australia; meteorites are sometimes called for the locations where they fall or are discovered. Although scientists didn’t know of any other meteorites with a composition similar to Brachina until this one was found, there are now 56 known as “brachinite” meteorites.
