2. STANDING AT THE SKY’S EDGE

Originally, Standing at the Sky’s Edge was intended as a tribute to Sheffield and the famous Park Hill Estate. It follows the aspirations of three generations across six turbulent decades, with direction by Sheffield Theatres’ Artistic Director Robert Hastie, songs by Richard Hawley, and a text by Chris Bush. Standing at the Sky’s Edge is a moving investigation of the strength of community and the place we all call home, revealing the history of contemporary Britain through the stories of this renowned housing estate.

Standing at the Sky’s Edge, originally commissioned by Sheffield Theatres and Various Productions, premiered at the Crucible Theatre in 2019. After a tremendously successful run at the Crucible Theatre that sold out every performance, the play transferred to the National Theatre’s Olivier Theatre in London in the early years of 2023.

3. THE LEHMAN TRILOGY

In this incredible storytelling accomplishment, told in three sections over the course of a single evening, Michael Balogun (Death of England: Delroy, Macbeth), Hadley Fraser (The Antipodes, Coriolanus), and Nigel Lindsay (The Pillowman, A Small Family Business) star as the Lehman brothers, their sons, and their grandsons.

A young man from Bavaria waits on the New York docks on a chilly September morning in 1844, hoping for a fresh start in the New World. His two brothers soon join him, and together they launch an American classic. Lehman Brothers, the firm they found, spectacularly fails and declares bankruptcy 163 years later, setting off the worst financial crisis in human history.
